What’s new:

SERT was in the news for our impact on girls and women in STEM!

Our robot, Obtuse, and our team traveled to Portland for Bunnybots and we were picked by @frcteam3636 (b) and @1540flamingchickens (c) for Alliance 2, with @betablues_5975 as sub. Alliance 2 ended up finishing second in the finals.

What’s on the horizon:

Our team is volunteering at outreach in our community, modifying toys for children with disabilities, and 3D printing gifts for unhoused youth. We are also incredibly excited for the kickoff of the new season, which is happening in January 2026.

Join the fun:

We’re now actively recruiting for the 2025-2026 season, no experience needed!

You can join the team no matter what local high school you’re attending, you need only be 14 years old and have finished 8th grade. Join us in Summer to learn new skills, then stay on the team for competition season kickoff in January!

Advocacy:

A resolution honoring SERT was voted on and passed in the Oregon Senate. You can read the text here. In February 2025 several SERT students traveled to Salem to testify for the resolution and provide advocacy for continued robotics programs in Oregon.

Other ways to participate:

Our diverse team is more than just robots…..get involved with the team’s business, fundraising, coding, computer aided design (CAD), graphic design, photography, videography, social media, game strategy and much more. There is something for everyone at SERT.
